SESSION 2: LEARNING RESOURCES & TECHNOLOGIES
Why ED 403 Has Transformed My Teaching
Taking the ED 403 course has been a game changer for me. The most valuable part has been exploring different technology tools that support teaching and learning in higher education. I can honestly say my teaching this year feels different and better than in past years. Some clear and meaningful approaches have emerged. For example, I now use platforms like Padlet and Miro to engage students in online discussions. These tools make collaboration easy and fun, even from a distance.
I have also started using Pecha-Kucha style PowerPoint slides for presentations. It's a creative way to present, and it helps with time management both for me and my students.
What I have enjoyed most, though, is learning new things and actually practicing them in my teaching and learning process. Now I truly realize how fun and meaningful learning can be with today's digital tools.

Exploring Open Educational Resources (OER): A First-Time Experience
This was my first time diving into Open Educational Resources (OER), and I was pleasantly surprised to find so many materials that were both appropriate and relevant to my teaching course. Personally, I am a big fan of visual and audio tools that they help me grasp concepts much faster than spending hours reading through dense texts. One key takeaway for me was the importance of understanding copyright and licenses. It's something every educator should be aware of when using or sharing OER.
I came across a video that tied in perfectly with my ED 301, Educational Research topic: The differences between quantitative and qualitative research methods. To make the most of it, I decided to use a flipped learning approach. Learners watched the video at home (or anywhere outside the classroom), and when they came to class, they worked in groups to discuss the main differences.
The result? A noticeable boost in learner motivation, engagement, and collaboration. It's a strategy I will definitely be using again.
After completing the OER Evaluation Assignment, I realized how important it is to clearly understand the following details and their significance: Video link: https://youtu.be/8qPaIMs8jR8, the OER type (in this case, a YouTube video), the license type, and the category of OER being used to review and other key elements.
