Session 3 Blog Post: eLearning Trends in Higher Education Changing long-held beliefs, cultural practices, and traditional ways of thinking is never easy. These perspectives are often deeply rooted in how we were raised and educated. However, the world today is evolving rapidly, and education must evolve alongside it. One of the most significant shifts we are witnessing is in the area of eLearning, where the focus is moving toward more experiential, “learn-by-doing” approaches. This shift challenges us to think differently, dream bigger, and embrace change as it happens in real time. In both the present and the future, education is no longer simply about acquiring knowledge. Instead, it is about continuously developing and adapting skills for lifelong learning. Learners are being prepared not just for a single job, but for multiple roles, many of which may not yet exist. As technology continues to advance, the educational landscape is transforming in remarkable ways, opening up ...

Session 5 Blog Post: E-facilitation (Practicum) Week 9-12

Challenges and Benefits of Group Work in Higher Education Group work in higher education presents both challenges and benefits. One challenge is that it can be time-consuming, particularly when waiting for all members to participate actively in group activities. Another challenge is the diversity of thinking styles and beliefs among members, which can sometimes slow the progress of a task. However, I believe the benefits of group work are more significant, especially in terms of the quality of work produced. This is because collaboration and the sharing of ideas among team members lead to stronger outcomes. Reflecting on my experience with the Aristotle group, in doing our e-facilitation Practicum - Moodle shell, I recognize that each member brings their own strengths, weaknesses, experiences, talents, skills, and diverse learning styles to the team. A genuine spirit of collaboration is essential when working together to complete any group task. The group environment supported acti...

SESSION 2: LEARNING RESOURCES & TECHNOLOGIES Why ED 403 Has Transformed My Teaching Taking the ED 403 course has been a game changer for me. The most valuable part has been exploring different technology tools that support teaching and learning in higher education. I can honestly say my teaching this year feels different and better than in past years.  Some clear and meaningful approaches have emerged. For example, I now use platforms like Padlet and Miro to engage students in online discussions. These tools make collaboration easy and fun, even from a distance.  I have also started using Pecha-Kucha style PowerPoint slides for presentations. It's a creative way to present, and it helps with time management both for me and my students.  What I have enjoyed most, though, is learning new things and actually practicing them in my teaching and learning process. Now I truly realize how fun and meaningful learning can be with today's digital tools.  PECHA-KUCHA SLIDES ...

Title:   Technology Enabled Learning and the Future of Learning in Higher Education: Your Teaching Philosophy Shapes Your View Your teaching philosophy determines how you engage with technology-enabled learning. I firmly believe that learning through experience is essential and I have personally seen the benefits of using technology in my own teaching. Currently, I use both Moodle and Google Classroom to add activities and resources for my students in ED 102 and ED 301. Through consistent practice, my teaching has improved to a better standard. I have noticed that my students are enjoying the lessons and are highly engaged. When I give them a quiz, it encourages interaction and collaboration among classmates. Our institution has been very supportive by offering workshops and professional development sessions on Moodle. These have been incredibly helpful. I am now looking forward to our upcoming workshop on Turnitin, a tool that will greatly assist with assessing and marking ...
